Renovations and new builds create a lot of awkward waste: offcuts of timber and plasterboard, broken tiles, old cabinetry, doors, carpet, packaging and pallets. Council kerbside clean-ups generally won't take building materials, so a removal crew or a skip is the usual answer.
Renovators, builders and new-home owners
- Homeowners mid-renovation: a crew can do one big pickup at the end, or several smaller runs as each stage finishes.
- Builders and trades: regular site clean-ups keep a job tidy and safe. Ask the crew about ongoing pickups.
- New estates: in growth areas like Oran Park, Leppington and Gregory Hills, fresh owners often have landscaping waste, leftover pavers and mountains of packaging after move-in.
Heavy material costs more
Bricks, concrete, tiles and soil are heavy, so they're usually priced by weight or need a specific skip. Light bulky waste like timber and packaging is priced by volume. Describing the mix accurately on the call avoids surprises.
Asbestos: check before you demolish
Homes built or renovated before 1990 may contain asbestos in wall and eaves sheeting, bathroom linings, vinyl floor tiles and more. Don't cut, drill, sand or break any material you're unsure about. Get it tested, and if it contains asbestos, use a licensed asbestos removalist. We don't arrange asbestos removal, and a general rubbish crew can't legally take it in a mixed load.
No asbestos, sorry. We don't arrange asbestos removal. In NSW, any friable asbestos and more than 10mΒ² of bonded asbestos must be removed by a licensed asbestos removalist. If you suspect asbestos (common in homes built or renovated before 1990), leave it alone and get it tested.
Frequently asked questions
Will you take plasterboard and timber?
Yes, these are common renovation items. Heavy material like concrete and tiles is usually priced differently, so mention everything on the call.
Can you do regular site clean-ups?
Many operators do. Ask about ongoing pickups when they call.
What if I find asbestos?
Stop work on that area and get it tested. Asbestos must be handled by a licensed removalist, and we don't arrange asbestos jobs.
